The Academy of Natural Sciences hosted a sustainability forum for candidates running for City Council from the 1st District through the 5th District during which the candidates talked about their environmental issues facing Philadelphia.
Sponsored by the Next Great City initiativem which consists of over 100 civic, labor and environmental organizations, the main goal is to create a positive future for Philadelphia by developing the neighborhoods and creating a sustainable environment to live.
The candidates discussed issues such as energy, waste, transportation, food access and land reuse.
These forums will continue with the other district candidates thoughout the election period.
