Right in the heart of the neighborhood, Bargain Thrift Center is proud to serve Germantown.

Owner Suzanne Quinn has been with the store, located at 5261 Germantown Ave., for over 20 years. Her father opened the shop in 1976. The store has been selling used clothing, accessories, furniture, home goods, books, toys, unique vintage pieces and more ever since.

“This is my family’s place,” Quinn said.

Suzanne expanded the business in 1986, when she opened a second store. Now, their warehouse location at 4530 Germantown Ave. holds the “Dollar Thrift Store.” Here, shoppers can browse a huge array of items all priced at just $1 or less.

“We’ve been here for so long,” Quinn said. “We literally know generations of families who’ve been coming here. The community has always helped us out a lot.”

And Bargain Thrift Center gives back to its community. Not only does it offer affordable merchandise and frequent discount sales, it also provides fundraising services and more. The store advertises on its website that it is willing to help decorate properties for sale or provide creative set pieces and costumes for theater productions, films or photo shoots.

Many members of the community are frequent shoppers at Bargain Thrift Center. They know Quinn and her family and are pleased with the helpful role the store plays in the community. Quinn said she is thankful for the community and the support they’ve provided her family business over the years.
