Cedar Park: Jewelry is a Girl’s Best Friend

Eun Kim, owner, was excited to show off her new jewels to customers.

Eun Kim is a fashionista who had been searching for good quality, high-end fashion accessories for a reasonable price. After countless journeys through several malls, outlet malls and department stores, she was left with only disappointment. It wasn’t until she and her husband, Han Pak, decided to take matters into their own hands and opened up their own unique fashion accessory store in May, currently called Urban Traveler.

Eun Kim was excited to show off her new jewels to customers.

Located at 4828 Baltimore Ave., this evolving shop features hand-crafted jewelry from small Korean businesses as well as a collection of stunning scarves and purses. Pak found that acquiring the inventory from Korea was the best trade-off of both price and quality. He guarantees that the jewelry will never fade, tarnish or erode because most of it is made of brass and is plated gold or silver. Currently, all of Urban Traveler’s merchandise will originate from Korea, but Pak and Kim plan on obtaining items from local businesses down the road.

Pak’s father renovated the once vacant space into what is now the brilliantly chic Urban Traveler. Originally, Pak’s father wanted the space to be a cigar shop, but after some convincing by Pak his father reconsidered.

For Kim, Urban Traveler is an experiment that she strives to improve by including shoes and some items of clothing. This is just the first step for the couple as they plan on establishing their own unique brand in the future.

For now, Pak and Kim are pleased with Urban Traveler and are excited to see how their business will grow. The couple supports and hopes to contribute to the diversity found in the neighborhood. Word travels fast and Urban Traveler has already gained attention from local residents.
