Publicity will not be needed for condominiums currently under construction at Second and Oxford streets in South Kensington.

Even with six months left in construction, most of these condominiums have already been snapped up.

“We haven’t advertised any of the buildings yet…because we have people lined up anyway. We’ll have it rented pretty quickly,” said Grace Valez, an assistant at the property’s realty group, Mendez Homes and Investments.

The green-and-gray condominiums will provide at least 18 units, with one, two and three bedrooms available. Convenient parking is also included underneath the building structure.

“We can’t do walk throughs of the building yet,” she added, explaining that prices had also not been decided. The properties are available for sale or rental.

Construction began last year and the project is nearing completion. “It should be completed, I’d say in the next six months.”

In its last eight years of business, Mendez Homes and Investments has sold a variety of properties in lower North Philadelphia. The realty group’s owner, Maria Mendez, also lives in the area.

These condos are one of many new buildings transforming the neighborhood. Several development companies have constructed condominiums from vacant lots and buildings to accommodate the growing number of residents moving into the area.
