Brought to you by The Friends of Julian Abele Park and the South of South Neighborhood Association (SOSNA), the Lancaster County-based food includes all sorts of fruits and vegetables, fruit pies, cookies, sticky buns, bread, eggs and flowers.

Located at the corner of 22nd and Montrose streets, the market runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Friday.

After a grand re-opening on May 18, the Julian Abele Park Farmer’s Market will continue every week until October 18. With an assortment of produce, drinks and baked goods, the market is a unique and personal way to bring the farm to the city.

“‘It’s always nice to have fresh produce come into the neighborhood,” local resident Tyler Lock said. “I feel like I’m giving back to the community a little by shopping here rather than at supermarkets.”

After donations by the community, the Friends of Julian Abele Park recently underwent a few renovations to improve its appearance. After purchasing fresh food and desserts, guests often stick around the park to enjoy some delicious treats under the summer sun.

While the farmer’s market has featured food from numerous local crops, this years fresh produce is coming from the Beiler family in Lancaster County.
