Valley Green Bank opened its new branch in South Philadelphia at 1536 S. Broad St. with a commemorative ribbon cutting ceremony on June 7.

The event focused on Valley Green Bank’s commitment to serve the local neighborhood in an impactful way and adding to the vibrancy of the growing business community in South Philadelphia.

Mayor Michael Nutter joined Valley Green Bank’s President and CEO Jay Goldstein in cutting the ceremonial ribbon in the presence of local elected officials, business and civic leaders, customers, neighbors and employees.

“Community banks are so vital to the revitalization of our neighborhoods,” Mayor Nutter said. “Valley Green Bank has been a real leader in that regard, lending in Philadelphia throughout the financial downturn and playing a significant role in improving the economic climate in the city.”

As part of its neighborhood focus, Valley Green takes great pride in encouraging promoting banking relationships with charitable organizations in the city.

“All of the members of our Board of Directors serve on non-profit boards in Philadelphia. We believe this commitment to giving back should extend to the bank as well,” Goldstein said.
