Converting your Soundslide to an MP4 File
1. Once you are done editing your Soundslide, click on the “Export” option
go to “File” menu to “Export.”
This will automatically export your Soundslide folder and take you to your “publish_to_web” folder.
Make sure to rename this folder with your group’s naming convention: “fa1016historygroupenterprizesedgwick”
2. After you have renamed the “publish_to_web” file, you will have to compress it.
3. Next you will need to upload your “publish_to_web.zip” to the Soundslides video converter, https://video.soundslides.net/converter/ . There are three preset sizes, but you will need to select DV (720 x 540). It says your email address is optional, but you may want to enter it so that you can save the file. Any email will work. Check the box to include lowerthirds.
4. Upload your Slideshow. If you used the demo version of Soundslides, the video converter will be unable to convert your file into a MP4.
5. Wait for your file to be fully converted into a MP4 file. It may take longer than five minutes for your file to be converted.
6. Once the conversion is complete you will be able to download the file to your computer.
With your email, there will an email from the Soundslides’ team that will provide a downloadable MP4 file of your Soundslide.
7. Make sure to rename your Soundslide MP4 with the proper naming conventions!
8. Save your renamed “publish_to_web.mp4” to a safe location on your computer or hardrive. Note the file can now be viewed with Apple Quicktime and is ready to be uploaded to Vimeo.
9. To Upload and embed your Soundslide MP4 to Vimeo and WordPress follow the same tutorial used for uploading and embedding a video file.
