The Children of Destiny Early Learning Center caters to assisting young children. The center, located on 1639 Cecil B. Moore Ave., accepts babies who are six months old up to children who are six years old. Delilah Brennan, the owner of the center, has been in the day care field for eight years. This is her second learning center and she found it to be going well.

This learning center provides a lot of resources for kids.

“We are a full service day care, where we believe children should really learn as a result of play, structured activities and one-on-one time for quiet and personal moments.”

Most of the children at the center are from the North Central neighborhood. Brennan takes her center seriously and works hard to set an example of high excellence.

“We want our babies and children to be focused and to achieve a high degree of success when they are older, ” Brennan explained.

At this North Central center, the children have a lot of different books, toys and exercises to choose from. Brennan has a few employees but only one available volunteer at this time. She is looking for more volunteers to help the center, as the number of her children grow.

“We had a rough beginning when we opened in the winter,” Brennan explained. “In the winter a lot of parents are already set with their day cares.” Brennan explained that although they had a rough beginning, it was a great learning experience.

For the future, Brennan and her staff plan to turn this day care center into a preschool.
