Eugene “Buddah” Thomas formed Power Circle Mentoring in 2015, a program designed to help children 11-19 gain the life skills needed to achieve their dreams. Since then, the nonprofit has reached about 700 kids through summer programs, job assistance, weekly classes, and pop-up events, Thomas said.
Angenique Howard formed Unique Dreams Inc. in 2019 to empower, uplift, and educate the Frankford community. While providing services such as trade classes, summer camps, and block clean-ups, Howard ultimately hopes to reinstate the Garsed Center to its former status as a thriving community center.
