Rescue Dogs

At the Philadelphia Department of Prisons, the New Leash on Life program pairs inmates with rescue dogs, fostering mutual rehabilitation and fresh starts through training, responsibility, and compassion. This initiative reduces repeat offenses and gives both inmates and dogs a second chance.

In accordance with Philly Beer Week, South Philadelphia’s Devil’s Den orchestrated an adult carnival. Food specials included corn dogs, fried Oreos, funnel cake and gourmet popcorn. For entertainment, caricature and balloon artists were on hand.
