Dawn Evans enjoyed a professional music career in Paris where she lived before becoming a wife and mother in Philadelphia. While in Paris Evan’s love of music flourished. She frequently worked with some of the hottest artists in Paris. Well versed in French and the African languages of  Swahili, Woloff and Lingala, this Pittsburgh, Pa., native was a sought-after performer.

Leaving behind Paris,  Evans now works as a real estate agent with Prudential Fox & Roach in suburban Jenkintown. Evans’ new real estate career was the idea of her husband, jazz musician Orrin Evans, who suggested it after she had been laid off at her job as an administrative assistant.

“I had experience working in a real estate office before but I was hesitant about jumping in as an agent because being self employed is very difficult and two self-employed people trying to maintain a household is very challenging,” said Evans.

While Evans focuses most of her time on her real estate career she continues to actively participate in the promotion of artists for Imani Records, a record label owned by her and her husband. “Music is my life, whether I’m on stage or behind the scenes making things happen,” Evans said.
