The 10th annual East Falls Chili Cook-Off, held this weekend, brought together friends, families and local businesses for a night of competition and fun. The competition was held by the East Falls Community Council as a way to raise money for the community and to bring residents together.
Both amateur and professional competitors came to win awards for the best meatless chili, traditional chili and side dish. The People’s Choice Award, which is known as the most prestigious of the awards, was received by James Mitchell for the second year in a row. Mitchell is the chef and owner of The Cafe at the Mills, located at 3502 Scotts Lane, where he serves his vegetarian chili on a regular basis.
