McMichael Park will once again play host to the annual East Falls Flea Market being held this Saturday, June 15.
The event, which is sponsored by the East Falls Community Council, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park, which is located at the corner of Midvale and Henry avenues.
Over 150 vendors are expected to be on hand this year selling a wide variety of goods. Last year’s vendors sold everything from handcrafted jewelry to VHS taps, and seemingly everything in between.
Drew Myers is coordinating the event for the EFCC, and said that money raised will go toward EFCC projects and community grants.
“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” he said.
Myers said that in the past year the EFCC has given out around $2,600 in community grants. Money that has gone toward a number of causes, including supplementing local schools with much needed supplies and helping to finance a community garden.
Merchants will be setting up temporary shop around the perimeter of McMichael Park, leaving the park’s center open for patrons to mingle with one another, and share some of the unique finds that are sure to be had.
A number of local food vendors, including five food trucks, will also be offering visitors an assortment of food.
There are a limited number of vendor spots still available for anyone interested in participating in the event as a seller. Interested parties can email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Drew Myers at (301) 367-0039 to register.
