For businesses looking to set up shop in Philadelphia, plenty of options are available–and while Center City offers a great, urban location for new businesses, East Falls is being promoted as a setting with unique characteristics.
Gina Snyder, director of the East Falls Development Corp., helps outline opportunities in East Falls to prospective business owners. She said she believes that the neighborhood is a great place to invest it.
“East Falls is unique in that it is the only business district on the river,” Snyder said. “With great views of the Schuylkill River.”
Snyder said that major arterial roads like Route 1, Ridge Avenue and Kelly Drive are perfectly situated between the suburbs and Center City, and that the Schuylkill River trail attracts more than 15,000 visitors a week, presenting plenty of clients or customers for a new business.
An ideal setting and many visitors isn’t the only incentive for business owners to come to East Falls, Snyder added.
“We support applications for Storefront Improvement Grants through the City of Philadelphia’s Commerce Department,” Snyder said. “We also work with new businesses and help with zoning to open a business and promotions once the business is open.”
