Polished for Pennies, a fashion and lifestyle blog created by Fox Chase natives Vittoria Woodill and her sisters, is looking to grow.

Woodill, a traffic reporter for CBS3, started the blog in 2011 for women who still want to look and feel good while working on a tight budget. The blog features photoshoots, style tips and PolishedTV, which gives girls an inside look into some new trends. The blog has also coined its own Polished Principles like “Shop for What Pops” and “Zipfactor.”

While Polished for Pennies has already expanded its readership by cultivating its online presence in social media spheres such as Tumblr and Pinterest, Woodill is soon hoping to develop a magazine that could reach more people in Northeast Philadelphia.

“The beauty of a 15-year plan is that you never know where it could take you,” Woodill said of her blog. “We are excited for our future.”

Though the blog does reach readers all across the US, Polished for Pennies’ strongest base is right in Woodill’s own community.

“It’s a Philadelphia-based blog, which is special because I feel a real connection with the ladies running it,” says Shannon Bailey, who finds that the places Woodill shops at are easily accessible. “I know where, when and how to shop for clothes that fit my need.”
