The Moonlight Movies series kicked off last Friday in the garden at the Lovett Library Park, located at 6945 Germantown Ave., in Mount Airy.
A free screening of The Princess Bride launched the summer series of Friday night films.
The Friday night films start at 8:30 p.m. Movie attendees are encouraged to arrive at 8 p.m to set up their lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Food vendors and local restaurants are on site for attendees who wish to grab dinner beforehand.
The Moonlight Movies series is hosted by Mt. Airy, USA and the Free Library of Philadelphia in partnership with the Trolley Car Diner. The outdoor summer long event is designed to bring the community to a section of Germantown Avenue in Mount Airy that host consider underutilized.
The Friday night series runs through August 17. All movie showings are free and open to the general public.
