Real estate sales are up in the Parkwood section of Northeast Philadelphia and according to Keller Williams Real Estate agent Joe “Big Joe” McCarthy, it’s the perfect time for first-time buyers.
“Interest rates are still low and people are moving continually for a variety of reasons,” he said. “This is a good year for sellers compared to the past few but particularly good for buyers because of the lending atmosphere.”
Parkwood is currently ideal because of the great residential neighborhoods and desirable location.
“People like Parkwood,” said McCarthy. “It’s been a fairly good neighborhood to buy and sell with over the past few years. Real Estate is very local and Parkwood is a desirable location, so it is easier to find buyers.”
Shawn Costello, a first-time buyer and Northeast local, is looking for specifics while hunting for his first home in Parkwood.
“I’m definitely considering Parkwood as a first time buyer,” said Costello. “I’m mostly looking at the condition of the main things in the house. Things like the roof, air conditioning system and heating system. We like to evaluate the big dollar items as well, like the kitchen and bath rooms.”
According to various housing market statistics via Keller Williams Real Estate, sales haven’t been this stable since 2007 and will continue to stabilize into the coming year.
