Pitch:
For this step, the reporter(s) will need to have a developed idea of the story and all the components: subject, angle, multimedia elements, lead, nut graph, story arc, characters, etc. A completed Story Pitch/Outline sheet needs to be completed before arriving to class for that week.

Workshopping:
Reporter(s) will meet with his/her editor to go through the Story Pitch/Outline, identifying strengths and weaknesses, as well as assessing where the reporting is at and what is needed.

Draft:
Reporter(s) will file a draft with their editor using the Story Draft template, filling out all the sections, and file it in the Google Docs folder Neighborhoods/Drafts/(Editor name).

Editing:
The Story Draft template is primarily where comments on the story and the editing will take place.

To Malo:
Once the editor is satisfied with the story it should be moved to in Google Docs to Neighborhoods/Malo. Stories will not be considered for review unless the Story Draft template is completely filled out.

At this point a story will be accepted and scheduled to be published or sent back for further edits. Malo will send an emails to the student(s) and editor, noting that revisions are needed.

Once the reporter(s) completes the edits, it will again be reviewed. If/when a story is accepted, Malo will let the student know they can add the story to the PN WordPress and save it as Pending Review instead of Draft.

Malo will then check everything has been added correctly and, if so, the story will be scheduled to publish. If there are errors it will be reverted to a draft until the changes are made and the story is re-filed under Pending Review.

Publish:
Once a story has been scheduled to be published the reporter will receive an email. When the story goes live, the reporter should share the link with all those involved with the story and share on social media.
