Located at 1130 Columbia Ave., is Yoga has become a space for local residents who wish to pursue yoga in a small and friendly learning environment. Chae Yang Bullock, owner and chief teacher, opened the studio in January to share her experience as both a yoga student and teacher.
Bullock said it was never her intention to open her own place. However, when she married her husband, John, they ended up with two houses. So she converted her house into a studio, bringing students from her other teaching jobs to the new place.
“I have eight of [my students] as my teacher trainees in our teacher training program,” Bullock said. “I still teach at another place, so I see them there and here.”
The studio has a lot to offer students from the community, even with a larger yoga studio just down the street.
“We’re geared towards a really small population, and we want them to come here and think of this as a community space,” Bullock said. “[We’re] for people who really want to go deeper into the practices, whether it’s physical or the texts, people who really want to learn the whole of yoga.”
is Yoga specializes in Vinyasa Flow style and is all alignment based. It offers several levels of classes as well as a prenatal class.
