Several thousand volunteers gathered in Innesfree Park in Sandton about five miles north of Johannesburg to celebrate the birthday of former President Nelson Mandela, who was born on July 18, 1918.

Each volunteer completed 67 minutes of charity work to commemorate the 67 years Mandela spent serving his country.

Buses transported volunteers to three different locations around the city. Each location allowed for different volunteer opportunities. Volunteers could spend time with orphan children or engage with senior citizens, or garden, paint, prepare meals or do laundry. This bus went to Katlehong Township about 12 miles east of Johannesburg.
