Technically Philly: DroneCast, The Flying Advertising Company That’s Shaking Things Up

For 19-year-old Raj Singh, disrupting the norms of advertising is the name of the game. Singh, whose first name is really GauravJit but goes by Raj, came up with the disruption when he had the idea to attach a banner advertisement to unmanned aircraft systems. He calls it DroneCast.

“When we first started my biggest fear was failure,” said Singh. “But I think we’ve gotten past a certain point where failure isn’t so much a fear as it is a motivator.”

Originally born in India, Singh moved to New Jersey with his family when he was 5. He attended Montgomery High School and started his first business building and selling 3-D printers. He then went on to develop Nova Bionics, a company that developed prosthetics limbs.

  1. We enjoyed your multi-media report. We are considering buying a drone. Our 11 year-old son wants to explore the topic for his science project. Thanks for the reporting.
