Go Vertical Indoor Rock Gym
Go Vertical Indoor Rock Gym (above) is located on North Penn Street and offers 250 different climbing routes. For $19 a person, a couple could spend the entire day climbing the 13,500-square feet of surface available. The rock gym also offers free parking and has a shower and locker facility as well.
“Not many people know this place exists, but it’s great because it creates a lot of trust, which is an immediate ice breaker,” said Brent Block, a climbing instructor. “Compared to other gyms, we offer more height and more variety for the more experienced climber.”
Painting with a Twist
The Philadelphia location is located on East Passyunk Avenue near Fifth and Bainbridge streets. Painting with a Twist is only $35 and allows for everyone to be an artist. The establishment was created after Hurricane Katrina as a way for people to recover and relax through learning to paint while enjoying wine. Painting with a Twist provides all of the art supplies, just bring a bottle of wine and unwind at this delightful foundation.
“It’s a free form environment,” said Pat Moreta, an employee at Painting with a Twist. “It’s a place where everyone can experience the art making process. Art is rewarding, meaningful and relaxing, and people can take this experience home.”
Ritz at the Bourse
Ritz at the Bourse is a popular Landmark Movie theatre located on Fourth Street between Market and Chestnut streets. The theatre is known for showing independent, foreign and documentary films.
