Center City: Release Your Inner Child for Halloween

Goblins and ghouls are back again! The Center City Spirit Halloween store is open for business. Kids aren’t the only ones running around looking for costumes. Adults are, too.

Store manager, Nicole Durkson said the most popular adult costumes this year have a 70’s theme, along with popes, nuns and gladiators. Many people, like Ayse Yasa, are still choosing the classic witch costume.

Ayse Yasa and Chris DeSimone had a great time picking out costumes.

Yasa, a native of Turkey, said  she doesn’t celebrate Halloween back home but definitely does in the States. Considering that the holiday falls on her birthday, she is looking forward to going to Miami and partying with her boyfriend, Chris DeSimone, who is going as a taco.

“We’re all kids at heart,” said DeSimone. “So it should be acceptable to celebrate Halloween as adults.”

Holly Martin, an advocate for all things horror, also believes that Halloween isn’t just for kids.

“I think everyone should be able to enjoy spirits and haunts and creepy things that go bump in the night,” said Martin

Holly Martin prepped up for a big Halloween celebration.

Martin has spent her past Halloweens working at Fear Factory, a haunted house in New Jersey. This year she has decided to go to Dracula’s Ball at The Trocadero in her spiked leather corset.
