New vibes are flowing into Point Breeze with Newbold’s newest yoga space, reNew Yoga Studio, at 1508 Moore Street. In an aromatic, light-filled room freshened with eucalyptus and nag champa incense, students can relax and take a variety of classes or come independently to practice in open studio time.

The studio’s owner, Emily Lenhard, previously instructed classes at Hawthorne Yoga & Reiki in Bella Vista. Lenhard is excited to share her passion with the Point Breeze community.

“In this neighborhood, I just saw a lot of good things happening,” she said. “I thought a yoga studio would be perfect, a studio that’s kind of small like this and has a neighborhood feel.”

In turn, Lenhard has seen a lot of excitement from friends and neighbors about the space’s opening.

“My neighbors are all super excited—a couple of them have already bought class cards and have been coming to classes on a regular basis, so it’s been good.”

Following a positive reception during a week of “Friends and Neighbors” classes in September, reNEW officially opened its doors to the public Sept. 28th. Gia Lombardi, who is a first-time instructor at reNEW, is eager to welcome new yoga students into the space.

“I think this studio in particular is really comfortable,” Lombardi said. “People shouldn’t be afraid to try yoga because the teachers and everyone is here to help you benefit from the classes.”

Though the studio is still new, Lenhard shared her wishes for the future.

“Just to get the neighborhood into it,” she said, “it’ll promote better vibes and better life, happier people making a happier neighborhood.”

"There's nothing to be sacred of," Lombardi says of yoga, She and Lenhard look forward to new students coming into classes ready to learn.
